“A modern man”
One of the biggest events in homage to Andrés de Urdaneta will be the international congress that will take place from 24th to 30th November, in Ordizia. Under the title “Andrés de Urdaneta: a modern man,” this encounter will analyze the most recent research and findings about his life.
World-renowned historians, as well as APEC leaders (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) will take part in this congress, which is opened to history lovers, researchers, students, and the public in general.

Another key initiative of this event is the exhibition dedicated to Urdaneta and his historical context. After being on display for several months at the Barrena Palace, Ordizia, this exhibition will move to the Boulevard Hall in San Sebastian from 3rd June to 3rd August, before moving to the Asia houses in Barcelona and Madrid.
