A walk through the vineyards

You can easily complete the Getaria DO Txakoli Route by car, as it covers 327 hectares full of vineyards for the elaboration of this wine. The route, which is properly signposted, offers the visitor beautiful coastal landscapes and covers all the wineries in Zarautz, Getaria and Aia that produce Txakoli. In these wineries, also known as “txakolindegi”, you can taste some delicious salted anchovies or local tuna with your Txakoli.
Txakoli is served an inch away from a curious flat glass and has to be drunk before its frothy brim (“txinparta” in Basque) fades away. It is perfect to be served with all kinds of starters, seafood, fish, and white meat.
