- The task of the cultural associations of Gipuzkoa that work in the promotion and propagation of the arts: music and theatre festivals, cinema, audiovisuals, etc.
- We also finance the theatrical distribution network Sarea, and work with the theatrical companies of Gipuzkoa.
- Private persons also have access to various types of assistance: scholarships, grants for creation and assorted prizes (e.g. the Pablo Sorozabal prize for musical composition, the Nicanor Zabaleta scholarship).
- We assist the town halls of Gipuzkoa in drawing up cultural programmes of extraordinary nature and in musical cycles.
- We help in the restoration of organs in the churches of Gipuzkoa.
- Maiatza Dantzan, contemporary dance workshops held every May.
- Training courses in dance and musical pedagogy in the theatre halls of Arteleku, which also are assigned out for rehearsals and other choreographic activities.

Cultural Dissemination Service
What is it?
In this service of the Department of Culture and Euskera [Basque] of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, our main task is to manage the KOLDO MITXELENA Kulturunea, both in the maintenance of the various services making up the Library, and in the drawing up of the cultural programming for this centre, especially its Exhibition Hall.As well as the management of programmes relating to the creation and propagation of culture, mainly in its artistic areas as they are to be found in the historical territory of Gipuzcoa.
How is it structured?
For purposes of carrying out the above arrangements, the service is structured in two sections: Promotion and Cultural Dissemination on the one side, and Library on the other.What are its main activities?
A large part of our activities are carried out in the building KOLDO MITXELENA Kulturunea. There, in addition to the actual offices of the service, we find the Library, the Exhibition Hall, the multipurpose space Ganbara, and the various other units devoted to cultural activities.To what extent, as a resident of Gipuzkoa, am I affected by the activities of the Library, Promotion, and Cultural Dissemination Service?
The various activities that we organize, or subsidize, cover the entire historical territory of Gipuzkoa, and hence all its people.This link will enable you to get to know all the activities we carry out at KOLDO MITXELENA Kulturunea. These activities can be divided into three main groups:
