    The Museum collections contain items relating to the First Carlist War, including: personal and military items belonging to Zumalakarregi and his family; weapons and uniforms; coins and stamps; important documents, letters, reports on a variety of subjects, proclamations; press articles; engravings, watercolours, oil paintings and examples of other artistic mediums; bibliographic items, biographies and scientific and general works dating from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries; cartography, plans, maps and atlases.

    Locating documents 

    In addition to reproductions, we have also located documents pertaining to the Museum’s theme in diverse public archives, including the municipal and provincial archives of Alaba, Gipuzkoa, Bizkaia and Navarre. To the same end, i.e. with the aim of locating new documents pertaining to the First Carlist War, we have also investigated a number of Spanish and French national archives, including: the Archives du Ministere d´Affaires Etrangeres in Paris, the Archives Departamentales des Pyrenées Atlantiques in Pau, the National Historical Archives in Madrid, the Military History Service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Archives, the Alcalá de Henares General Administration Archives, the Segovia General Military Archives, Arquivo do Reino de Galicia in La Coruña and the Zaragoza Municipal Archives.
