Restoration process The restoration work was
entrusted to a multidisciplinary team of experts in the fields of archaeology,
history and architectural restoration.
The first task was to excavate
the basement, which led to the discovery of the remains of an old cabin,
which had presumably stood on the same site prior to the construction of
the farmhouse.
Subsequently, a
series of planimetric and photogrammetric assessments of the structure
were carried out and all the wooden pieces numbered for later study.
To restore the wooden
structure, the farmhouse was completely dismantled and cleaned, and all
the wooden parts treated.
The objective of
the restoration work was to conserve the original parts as much as possible.
Therefore, partially deteriorated elements were fitted with supports and
extra pieces, while those in an advanced state of deterioration were replaced
by others of similar characteristics.
Finally, various
elements that had disappeared over the centuries were replaced, in order
to restore the atmosphere of a 17th century farmhouse with an interior
structure dating from the fifteen hundreds.
